Connecting the . . . moments - part 1
My adventure in DC is slowly winding down and although I haven't had much time to think about it, a few highlights though do stick out in my head:
Looking for a place to live . . .
Who knew the new language or vocabulary I would have to learn in order to navigate around 'Craigslist' and find a place to live. Here is a quick vocab lesson for anyone looking into houses in DC:
Young Professional: a person over 21 and under 38 who for an undetermined amount of time is 'gainfully' employed . . . but doesn't necessarily know what it is he or she is doing or why after undergraduate or graduate school.
Group House: where young Professionals live, not to be confused with group home or "insane asylum" - although other similiraties may exist.
Happy Hour: Although the concept wasn't foreign to me, I'll admit I didn't expect it to be the institution and norm that it is here! This is where you can go out and only pay $5 for a drink instead of $9 two hours too late. You have happy hours for anything and everything here - it's great.
